T-Mobile Surpasses 100 Million Customers

Even though the 2020 pandemic is wreaking havoc on companies across America, some corporations are still growing. And one of those just passed a big milestone.

T-Mobile has announced they have more than 100 million customers (100.4 million to be exact), making them the second largest wireless carrier. The company added just over 2 million subscribers in the last quarter, almost all of them on traditional postpaid plans (or plans that are billed at the end of the month). Another 600,000-700,000 customers are projected for the fourth quarter of 2020.

“Last quarter T-Mobile overtook AT&T to become #2 in U.S. wireless and today we announced our highest ever postpaid net adds. Now, with over 100 million wireless customers and America’s largest 5G network, there is no doubt that we’re the growth leader in wireless,” said Mike Sievert, T-Mobile CEO.

The uptick in customers comes at a big time for T-Mobile, as they recently announced a renewed focus on streaming television, rolling out their “TVision” service. If you’re not familiar, TVision is T-Mobile’s new streaming app. Within the TVision app, users can choose between the affordable Vibe package with 30 channels for $10/month, or one of three TVision Live packages, starting at $40/month. Premium channels Showtime, Starz, and EPIX are also available through TVision Channels.

TVision launched November 1 for T-Mobile customers exclusively. Sprint customers will be able to add TVision services to their wireless plans beginning November 13. Subscriptions will be available to everyone in 2021. The app is available on Android, iOS, and Amazon devices, but Roku is absent for the time being.

And beyond their new TV service, T-Mobile is launching a device called TVision HUB, a $50 Android box with remote control that supports more than  8,000 streaming, gaming, and music apps.
