How to Watch the 2022 U.S Figure Skating Championships Without Cable on January 6

  • Reading time:3 mins read

The best figure skaters in the United States will be competing in the 2022 Toyota U.S. Figure Skating Championships ahead of the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing. This year’s event will be headlined by the reigning 3-time world champion Nathan Chen. He’ll be looking to secure his 6th consecutive U.S. title. The 22-year-old phenom is looking to join Todd Eldredge as the only two men to win 6 titles in the last 7 decades. Chen’s dominance has not been seen in the sport since Dick Button won 7 consecutive titles from 1946 to 1952.

On the women’s side, 2-time U.S. champion Alysa Liu will be competing against a talented field. Liu is the youngest-ever U.S. national champion and the youngest to win two senior national titles. She has become a pioneer in the sport and has plenty of other first by her name. She’s the first American woman to complete a quad jump during competition and to land a quad jump and triple axel in the same program.  At this year’s event, she will be competing against 2021 U.S. silver medalist Amber Glenn, 2020 U.S. Silver medalist Mariah Bell, and 2018 Olympian and 2017 U.S. champion Karen Chen.

This year’s U.S. Figure skating championship will take place from Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee. Play-by-play duties throughout the event will be handled by Terry Gannon with analysts Tara Lipinski (1998 Olympic gold medalist), Johnny Weir (3-time U.S. champion), and Tanith White (2006 Olympic silver medalist). Andrea Joyce will be the on-site reporter giving interviews and filling viewers in on all the storylines on the ice.
