How to Watch Alabama vs. Florida in the SEC Championship December 19, 2020

As college football prepares for bowl season and the College Football Playoff, conference championship weekend is upon us. One of the most pivotal conference championship games in recent history has been the Southeastern Conference championship. Since 2000, the winner of the SEC Championship has ended up winning the National Championship 11 times. In that time span, no SEC school has won more than Alabama’s 5 national titles, with 4 of those victories since 2010.

The tradition continues as the 2020 SEC Championship Game will pit No.1 Alabama Crimson Tide (10-0) vs. No. 11 Florida Gators (8-2) for the first time in the conference Championship Game since Alabama’s back-to-back victories in 2015 and 2016. In fact, the Gators have not won an SEC Championship since they defeated the Crimson Tide in 2008. Alabama’s most recent SEC Championship was in 2018. This game should be an SEC slugfest with the winner being a lock for one of the top 4 College Football Playoff spots.

The SEC title game will be played on a neutral field with 16,500 fans in attendance. For the fans that will not be able to attend, here is how you can watch the 2020 SEC Championship Game.

Our prediction: Gators will not chomp when the Tide rolls through.

The undefeated Crimson Tide have been dominant this season, as they’ve defeated every SEC opponent by 3 scores or more. On the other hand, all of the Gators victories have been by at least 2 scores; however, they do have a couple of losses. Their first loss was 41-38 against Texas A&M, a team that Alabama beat a week earlier 52-24. This past weekend, the Gators lost to LSU, 37-34, a team the Crimson Tide mollywhopped 55-17.

Alabama head coach Nick Saban has a disciplined team, and he’s one of the best coaches in the country. It will not be surprising to see the Gators’ get out coached and outplayed on all 3 levels. Those 2008 days of Urban Meyer coaching Florida are long gone and the Gators have not been the same team since. Florida will put up a good fight, but the Tide will pull away with a 45-28 victory.
