Along with asking our readers about their favorite live TV streaming services and on-demand streaming service, this year we added another category to the annual Cordie Awards – the best niche streaming services. This category included streaming services dedicated to one genre like anime, documentaries, or, in the case of our winner, sports.
ESPN+ won the award for best niche streaming service with 32.8% of the votes. With ESPN+, you can stream live sports, get access to original content, and find exclusive UFC events.
In second place was CuriosityStream with 17.2% of the votes. CuriosityStream is the streaming home of science, technology, and history content, with thousands of titles including originals.
Next up was Britbox at 15.7%. Britbox is a service made for binging mystery, comedy, drama, docs, lifestyle, and more British TV. You can subscribe for just $6.99/month for the largest collection of British TV, including classic series, current shows, and originals.
Rounding out the niche streaming services were Acorn TV with 13.4% of the votes, Shudder with 10.6% of the votes, Crunchyroll with 5.7%, and Criterion Channel with 5.7%.
