Charter Lost 66,000 Video Customers in Q4 2020

Today, Charter reported a 66,000 video subscriber loss for the final quarter of 2020. While the company took a hit in the final months of 2020, it came out ahead after adding subscribers in Q2 and Q3. Charter added 19,000 video customers in 2020, ending the year with 16.2 million video customers, up from 16.14 million subscribers in 2019.

Charter’s internet business continues to grow, with the
company adding 246,000 internet customers in Q4. 2.2 million customers were added
in total for 2020.

“Our 2020 performance demonstrates that our
customer-friendly operating strategy works well for Charter communities,
employees and shareholders, even in challenging economic and operating environments,”
said Tom Rutledge, Chairman and CEO of Charter. “We added nearly two
million customer relationships in 2020—800,000 more than we added in 2019—and
demand for our connectivity products remains strong. As we look forward, we
remain focused on the continued execution of our operating strategy, driving
customer, revenue and free cash flow growth, enhancing value for our
shareholders.”
