Buzzer App Launches with NBA League Pass Integration and More

Earlier this year, we reported on how the Buzzer app plans to revolutionize the NBA viewing experience with NBA League Pass. The app will allow fans to make seamless micropayments known as “Buzzer Moments,” to tune in for key plays, players, and moments via their NBA League Pass subscription. At the low price of 99 cents per 10 minutes of live game footage or $2 per quarter, Buzzer is the perfect option for anyone that doesn’t want to be locked into a month-long or annual subscription to watch NBA games. It’s especially ideal for watching a thrilling and heart-racing 4th quarter comeback from your favorite players or teams.

Now, Buzzer founder and CEO Bo Han has taken to Twitter to announce the app’s return to League Pass with a host of new features for its official launch day.

Han announced that Buzzer’s newest features are picture-in-picture and NBA League Pass login. With picture-in-picture, Buzzer will allow fans to watch the game while interacting with their group chat or Twitter at the same time. Perfect for a mobile platform, Buzzer allows fans to socialize while never missing a moment on the hardwood. Soon NBA League Pass subscribers will be able to use their login credentials to access their Buzzer Moments for free via their League Pass subscription.

Buzzer also has deals in place with the PGA, WNBA, and NHL. While speaking to Sports Business Journal, Han gave some insight into who the Buzzer app resonates with:

“One of our key learnings from early access was that our platform does in fact resonate with younger fans with 72% of users who purchased NHL ‘Buzzer Moments’ falling between 18 to 28-year-olds,” Han said.

With its League Pass integration, Buzzer and the NBA are hoping they can increase the amount of younger viewers to the sport similar to the NHL. Buzzer Moments are an innovative way to watch clutch 3-pointers, mouth-dropping, and backboard-rattling thunderous dunks that often spotlight the game.

“The NBA is always looking for innovative ways to engage and attract fans, and Buzzer offers a new way for the league to reach new fans, particularly younger Gen Z and Millennial fans,” Han said to SBJ.

Buzzer is available to download on iOS in the App Store and Android in the Google Play Store. Fans can stay updated by visiting, and or by following @Buzzer on Twitter.
